ofc, stationary shopping! i love going through everything that's left over and seeing what i need and comparing all of the options and doing a haul at the end of it <3

the coming of autumn - my favourite season!

the sound of new shoes on the pavement

the renewal of my love of learning bc there's no exam stress

just fresh starts in general ! i love learning about how things will be different this uni / school year and preparing

speaking of preparing ... i love love planning and setting up my notion and all of my organisational tools <3

and setting goals !! i find that every year they get even more realistic which is great :)

that part of the summer where ive recovered from exam season burnout and i start learning for fun again (that's right now.. check out my gilmore girls themed sociology revision posts...)

having things to post about on my studyblr and studygram again! i'm also going to start posting on studytok this year bc i started making reels on ig at the end of the term and i loved it <3

reflecting on the last year! this time last year i was preparing to start university and i was soo nervous but also excited!

its wednesday, 15th of may and i have some study to do. plus im on campus today!

not super important, mid-important, most important

to-do:

prep for my classes

get a chai latte before i go to my classes because i do deserve a little treat sometimes

go to my first class, meet up with my group and start planning for our second presentation

go to my second class, just follow along the best i can

grab some food

go to my third class, do some work on my powerpoint, maybe ask for some more in-depth feedback on my failed assignment

walk to the other side of campus

start on my powerpoint for tomorrow (i know its late, i just have to do it)

if i finish my slides, do some drawings for my presentations

its a lot. i know i probably wont get everything done, but i can try my darnedest.

we make pointed comments until something happens about how everyone needs to wear nice and identifiable rings so it will be super convenient when we inevitably get murdered for being the first talon’s nearest and dearest and something needs to get sent to him in a box

i guess if all that fails we love and support him and help him realise he deserves better and can make this choice for himself or whatever

Transformers: Prime Decepticons - Hands

So, I was looking at hands, as one does when they’re bored, and I noticed a few things:

Every single ‘Con has claws, except Soundwave and Breakdown.

Megatron, Starscream, Shockwave, Dreadwing, Skyquake, Knockout, and Airachnid have 5 fingers.

Soundwave, Breakdown, Insecticons, Predaking, Darksteel, and Skylynx have 4 fingers.

Vehicons only have 3 fingers.

Predacon claws are flawless in form and aesthetic.

While I know Soundwave has spindly fingers for practical reasons, it’s the perfect symbolic representation of how he declawed himself for the sake of the Cause, giving up much of his power to follow Megatron.

Kudos to the character designers for crafting each Decepticon’s hands to match their function:

Megatron, Dreadwing, Skyquake: Sharp and wide for various combat situations

Soundwave: Thin and straight for work with computers and tech

Starscream: Light and “bony,” perfect for a flight frame

Shockwave, Knockout, and Airachnid: Sharp and delicate for scientific and/or medical work

Breakdown: Wide and blunt for brute force attacks

Vehicons: Useless

Insecticons: Wide and curved for digging and slashing

Predacons: Sharp with additional armor plating for evisceration (help I love this word so much)

The Autobots could only dream of having hands this masterfully crafted ✨

I feel like one of the quirks that Luo Binghe is denied in discussion is that while we know he cooks we don't actually have a sense of his preferences in terms of his favorite foods.

Like, yes, we know he makes congee but also consider is that it's good when you're sick kind of food. And quite specifically it's for other people. In fact all the food Luo Binghe makes except for 1 meal he made in the extra are not really meant for him. They're for Shizun.

So we don't really know or have sense of what like Luo Binghe likes which to me is, if I choose to over analyze a benign aspect of the writing, thematically relevant because Shen Qingqiu is incredibly self centered as a narrator. Whenever food is involved he specifically chooses to talk about it either as delicious and for him or ties into PIDW but not once does he bring up things Luo Binghe personally likes.

In general, it's a quirk worth exploring with head cannons on your own time but my main point is what is Luo Binghe's favorite food?

I struggle to think of a precise dish that Luo Binghe would truly love and call his favorite but I always get the impression he likes shrimp fried rice and anything salty. I don't know how to explain it but my head cannons are based a lot on the idea of general upbringing, personality, and ect, but also how I feel the abyss might fuck with ones ability to just EAT.

I personally think that being in the abyss would just in general make eating a lot of food unpleasant. Like forget eating monster parts or whatever a lot of what Luo Binghe was probably able to cook was mostly unseasoned meat that would occasionally be poisonous or whatever. It's probably often meaty and fatty and just this unpleasant overwhelming sensation in your mouth and because you're starving its too rich for your stomach. So you're constantly feeling awful after eating it. I can't imagine there were a lot of plants or grains available so it just be constantly eating MEAT.

And you get out of the abyss and you try to enjoy some tianshu styled pork and it's just so fatty and greasy (love that shit but i can imagine for Luo Binghe its a sensory nightmare). People keep putting these delicious meat dishes in front of you, and so many of them are just gross. Vegetables seem good and safe but certain ones just have a texture. They get slimy. They can be hard. It's this weird case were nothing feels good in your mouth. Sweets are nice and taste and feel. I can see Luo Binghe really loving lotus seed based deserts and cakes, but I don't know if it's his favorite. I get the impression is Shen Yuan taught Luo Binghe how to make western bread he'd love it. I think in general bread and anything grainy is just good to him. That he likes the saltiness and the crisp but soft aspect.

But shrimp is nice and fresh. Fried rice is this simple can't fuck it up dish where the textures are just so nice and pleasant. It's filling. It's savory. It just sits well on your tongue. In general rice is amazing and fried rice is just so nice and you cannot go wrong with it. It doesn't require this absurdly huge amount of effort and it's quick and easy. You can just enjoy it. Which to me is key. I feel like Luo Binghe can and enjoys making complicated dishes for Shizun but for himself something simple and nice he can just sit with makes him happiest.

Yet another night of bad sleep, and it was possibly the worst in the past couple of weeks. I am struggling quite a bit ngl. I have no idea how I'll manage next week with classes and all. The plan is to get some study done this morning, and then I'll see if I need to take the afternoon off. That will be a last minute decision depending on how I feel. I'd like to at least finish reading the first macro chapter of the anthropology book I have to study, but I am not sure I'll manage to actually finish it today. Hopefully I can get some work done despite everything.
